More about our classes and what gymnastics we offer
School Aged Gymnastics
Our school-aged gymnastics classes are for children in reception - 18 years of age. Whether your child is new to gymnastics or more experienced we have the equipment and expertise to help them achieve their goals whilst having fun and keeping active.
Shepton Mallet Gymnastics Club compete in all forms of competitions throughout the year. In these classes we train to compete for these events -
- Local floor and vault.
- South west tumbling squad.
- National tumbling finals.
- English silver tumbling championships.
Recreational Classes
In our recreational gymnastics classes we work on all fundimentals of the sport. All gymnasts work towards our very own proficiency awards, take part in local displays and also have the oportunity to compete in local competitions.
Competitive Gymnastics
Our development program ensures every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential. We carefully select gymnasts from recreational classes who we feel show a natural talent for the sport. Once selected gymnasts will work towards representing the club in all levels of competition.
Birthday Parties
Dance, Gymnastics, Games, we can offer any parties to suit your childrens needs.

Holiday Gymnastics
- Cost £29.00 (Members) - £32.00 (Non Members)
- Time 10-15.00
A day of gymnastic activities during the school holidays for children in Reception+. Children experience exciting equipment and learn new skills. In addition to this children get to enjoy a range of group games.
- Gymnasts must bring a packed lunch and a clearly labelled drink (no nuts or Kiwis)
- Gymnasts meet outside the main door - we operate a drop and go system (Parents must stay with gymnasts until collected)

British Gymnastics Membership
Shepton Mallet Gymnastics Club is a member of British Gymnastics and we comply to all their rules and regulations. At the beginning of the year, our members are asked to pay a small membership fee to register with British Gymnastics, this also provides their insurance for the year.
When Arriveing for all gymnastics classes
Gymnasts must arrive in clothes suitable for activity and with:
- Hair tied back
- Bare feet
- No jewellery, watches or Fitbits

Our Pre School Classes
Bouncing, spinning, rolling – your children are already natural-born gymnasts. So if you want to help them develop their physical skills, what better place to start?
Pre-school gymnastics teaches your children important skills like balance and co-ordination in a playful environment, it’s a great way for them to have fun and lay the foundations of a healthy, active lifestyle.

Tumbling Classes
Tumbling is a truly breath- taking type of gymnastics. Its all about sumersaults, flicks and twists - and linking them together, one right after the otheir. If you have already got a bit of gymnastics experience, its easy to get started with tumbling, and a whole lot of fun!
